Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 8/26/18

Morning all!

Mini Movie Reviews

Alpha Alpha – There is a lot of gorgeous cinematography in this film. They start out us out with the crisis point then go back a week earlier. It’s a gimmick they could have left out and made a better film due to it. It was nice to see some of the culture of the tribe, though the whole beating of the kids was not explained and didn’t make much sense, especially the night before a long excursion. Several instances of anachronism, which were odd. Several cases where the boy had a chance to make things better for himself and didn’t. (Hunter tent, sabertooth tiger pelt.) Rating: 3.5 out of 5 (Hubby’s Rating: Worth Full Price of Admission)

Continuing the dog theme…

A-X-L A-X-L – Adorable premise, blossoming AI escapes and gets adopted by a boy after getting bested by him. (Alpha dominance also showed in Alpha.) But a lot of problems with doing things for convenience and plot manipulation. Example: We see AXL use intelligence in evading pursuers and not being found, yet later he doesn’t move back even though we see in his sensors he is aware of the weapon the person is pointing and the pool for gasoline at his feet. He claws things, but we never see the claws. Lots of little things that added up to take away from the film. Rating: 3 out of 5 Hubby’s Rating: Worth Full Price of Admission.

One funny thing was that in A-X-L they show pics of man and dog over the years and of course had one for ancient man and dog. Tying it back to Alpha. Heh heh. Oh, and today is National Dog Day! So you have doggie movies you can see to celebrate. 🙂

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - GARM

Left for dead, Jensen has made his way inside the GARM facility where the trap was spring.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Inside GARM View of the inside of GARM.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - GARM bridge Moving from building 1 to building 2 of the GARm facility. It looks so cold out there!

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Waterfalls at GARM There be waterfalls at GARM. Used for power generation?

Deus Ex: Mankind DividedSlowly working my way to possible escape from this place.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Helipad viewView of GARM from the helipad.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - GARM from a distanceView of the whole compound as I make my escape. Impressive looking, no?

Deus Ex: Mankind DividedGood to be back.

Deus Ex: Mankind DividedCrime waits for no one.

On the book trailer news – I’ve picked three possibles for the music for the trailer. As I’ve done in the past, I look to Kevin MacLeod for excellent royalty free tracks. Will I use Black Vortex, Phantom from Space, or Voltaic? Too soon to tell. 😛

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex Mankind Divided 5/13/18

Greetings and Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother's Day Card

No movies this week as there’s been nothing out hubby and I have wanted to see. A very off situation, but it happens occasionally. However, the next two weeks we KNOW what we want to see – Deadpool 2 and Solo! 🙂

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Yep – haven’t done this one in a while. I keep thinking I will skip pics then I see why I took it in the first place and they are hard to pass on. Decisions, decisions. 🙂

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - computer/power tower

I tried to fix the contrast and you really need to see the bigger pic versions to see it. This is a tower of computers and power supplies. The thing is super rigged and has a ton of wires! This is the inside courtyard of a religious compound for a new offshoot I’m investigating.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - head plug ins for computer

The back of her head is like super disturbing. She’s added computer jacks in multiple places on her head. Eek! The better to prepare to upload to the ALL.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - Cult leader

This is her from the front. She’s the cult leader. Unfortunately, she’s also been duped into this.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - Augmented human computer tower

The goal of the cult is to go beyond the already augmented human form to a purely computer one. All these people are plugged into the mainframe waiting to ascend.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - the augmented are about to ascend

Kids, women, men, all plugged together into a network about to leave their bodies behind and ascend. All that awaits them is death unless this is stopped.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - readouts for plugged in cult members

You can see the readouts and some of the data on the plugged-in cult members.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - park outside the bankAnother pic better seen enlarged. Park outside the data bank. Love the shooting beams of light. 🙂

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - giant bulb of love!

This room is inside one of the clubs in the red light district. Love the little heart inside the bulb. 🙂

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - pilot display

Cool display in the cockpit of the infiltration craft. Chikane is about to drop me off at the remote Garm facility where we think some of the bad guys are hiding.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - Garm exterior death pit

Well, things did not go as planned and I got caught. I’ve been dumped here to die. Must find a way out!

Have a fabulous day!

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex Mankind Divided 2/4/18

Greetings!

I kind of fell off the face of the Earth for a while. Year End Close at work was rather brutal, and in the middle of it, hubby and I caught the Flu. My daughter and son-in-law didn’t catch it, but they got sinus infections instead. Now Jan close is here and the auditors for YE will show any day now. Wheeeeee!

Maze Runner Death Cure

Mini Movie Review – Maze Runner: Death Cure – It was loads better than the second film. A quick recap would have done a lot for it. The continual assumption by Hollywood that people will have gone back and rewatched the previous movies before seeing the new one will keep audiences from enjoying them as much. Lots of action and craziness. Do not look at stuff closely or it falls apart. Things set up in film 2 are not followed up on, things that should have been obvious from stuff that happened in film 2 also were ignored. lol.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Jensen goes into an antiques store and someone had a lot of fun with it. Found a copy of “Hitman” in a corner.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Then I found a copy of Deus Ex in a box! lol.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

A part of the map finally opened up in Prague. This is the red light district. Love the girl silhouette projected on the building.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Such a funky setup.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

An unexpected surprise! The original version of the AI program still exists! But this side story you have to stumble across. Hubby never knew of it. I only found it because I noticed one of the street electrical posters was malfunctioning and went to check it out. So glad she escaped!

The main street of the red light district. A lot of inventiveness went into this area. As you can see here and in the following pics. (Those leg lamps are too fab! lol)

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Looking for someone to get intel from here. It’s funny how upstairs it says “live show” yet they use mannequins. (And yes, to the right, that is what it looks like – a tentacle!)

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Inside The Irish Stool – has a nice feel to it. 🙂

The “Temptacle” Club – the reason for the tentacles on buildings. lol.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

This is the Church of the Machine God. The followers believe God is in the technology. They have a plan to elevate themselves to the next form of existence. Eek!

Stay warm and healthy out there!

Morning!

Mini Movie Review

Darkest Hour

Darkest Hour – 4 out of 5 (Hubby’s Rating: Worth Full Price to See Again) – great performances, cool cinematography. See the England side of what was going on while soldiers were getting stranded at Dunkirk and the horrid pressure on Churchill. A fascinating slice of history.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Beautiful view from the window!

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Someone has been keeping tabs on us!

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Hidden clues to a murder?

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

This machine will send me into a virtual world. Trying to figure out if my boss is part of the conspiracy.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

The virtual room where we’ve glimpsed clandestine meetings by those trying to undermine society.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Virtual data vault!

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

This is the actual data in a virtual form.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Another data node. This place is so cool looking! A pain in the keister to get at some of these data nodes though!

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

I am spying on my bosses a virtual meeting. Hee hee!

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Red light district in Prague. Clues from the virtual data vault and eavesdropping have led me here.

Wish me luck! Currently going through Year End at work. So far it’s proving rather ugly. Don’t like it! Waaahhh!

Have a great week!

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 12/17/17

Morning!

Chaos continues! Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Mini-Movie Review – The Shape of Water

The Shape Of Water

The opening scene is super awesome. This is a cute fairy tale, but IT IS NOT FOR KIDS! I can’t emphasize this enough. This movie is for adults. There are lots of great performances. It’s a sleepy little tale, but very poignant.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

One of the problems with what was supposed to be an aug paradise.

Heading to some of the restricted levels as I search for the man who created this place.

Sneaking around looking for ways up.

The man being blamed for a lot of the terrorist action in the world. He is an avid aug supporter. He doesn’t look like he’s doing so well. His dreams have been rotted from within and without, but others not so altruistic.

He’s a broken man. He’s not realized the depths of the betrayals visited upon him quite yet.

Well educated, driven, and yet even he has been played.

The skeleton of dreams never to be realized.

I so love the attention to detail!

Jensen has ferreted some of the truth. Time to bail from Hell.

There will be a reckoning.

Have a great week!

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 11/26/17

No mini movie review this week. We celebrate Thanksgiving on multiple days for each side of the family and fighting not to get sick with the temperature and weather changes, so never got a chance to go! 🙁

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Such Such a pretty jet plane. 🙂

Gorgeous sky!

A closeup view of the pilot. Not thrilled at augmented people but he warms up to me…eventually. 😛

Utulek Complex. One of those places that sounds great on paper but then goes horribly wrong.  Being toted as a place augs can get a new start and build their own utopia. Yeah…

Love this plane!!!! The first close up look of Utulek.

The poster says it all. Lol.

Some do try to make the place better. Not that there’s much to work with in this place.

The lost ones.

These guys are not here to “serve and protect” that’s for sure!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and weekend!

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 10/8/17

Morning!

Yep, I fell off the face of the Earth again. 🙁 Peeps who go to conventions know I’m alive, but online wise, I’ve somewhat disappeared. Too much stuff going on in RL both in and out of work. Ugh!

Movie – Blade Runner 2049 – a gorgeous film with a so-so script. It’s been 30+ years, everything would NOT look the same. Fashion and objects would have changed. And if you have a set of replicants that must obey commands, why would you give them an apartment and pay them? But it was pretty!

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Such a lovely culdesac, no?

Cozy little bedroom. Lots of unique touches.

The kid fishing in the fountain is so cute! Though this fountain obviously needs some maintenance love. Poor thing.

Uhm, no, nothing creepy about this place. lol.

Oh, how awesome is that! Lovely plane.

Hidden launch pad. Definitely no neighbors!

Do love this machine. So cool!

The pilot of said craft. He’s taken some definite damage for the cause.

The boss is still acting a little shifty and is on my radar.

Let’s keep all the people in Puerto Rico, Mexico, California, Las Vegas, and more in our thoughts and prayers. It’s been a rough couple of months for a lot of people out there!

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 8/13/17

This month has been super crazy so far. Quarter End last month and now implementing system changes and new processes. Dealing with the fallout as we find stuff that didn’t work right. I am so tired! lol. AnimeFest is next weekend as well. Whee!

The movie this week was – The Dark Tower. While I enjoyed the film and the special effects were fab, so much was lost by them shoving everything into a two-hour movie. The flavor of Roland’s world and the intertwined and twisted mess that has worked for years to bring all this about is not there. While I like Jake, I so wanted to see Susannah Dean! lol. (Hubby has not read the series and he did enjoy the movie.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

I am so in love with how they do this city. The mix of old and new.

Isn’t that a gorgeous building?

Then you find this kind of cool futuristic architecture. So awesome.

My little helper. Super paranoid computer geek. 😛 Once was a criminal.

Back to the bombed out train station. Trying to get some evidence before it is destroyed in a cover up.

I loved the 3D hologram/modeling. He’s trying to reconstruct the bomb mechanism.

Psychiatrist assigned to check out the people at HQ. It’s hard to tell if she’s legit or not. Or maybe a little of both.

Hidden dance club. All of the customers are high as kites. If they have implants, they might also soon be dead! The new drug has some serious side effects for the augmented.

More Awesome architecture!

This advertisement was so unexpected and yet so awesome and scary! lol. This is an entrance to one of the train stations. I can so see a pharmaceutical company paying to do this for ad space. lol.

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 5/21/17

Morning!

Hubby’s sick with a cold, and I am not far behind. Boo! The weather has been flip-flopping like crazy!

Taskforce 29 HQ

A cool thing the game peeps did. If your original rescue mission failed, you would not meet this guy at the office. But if you did!  🙂 I thought it was a nice touch that the game made a distinction.

Super cool 3D hologram, no? 🙂

This was funny and sad. This is Jensen’s workspace at HQ. The board pretty much says it all. Poor guy. (Not sure what’s up with the cereal boxes.) 😛

Back in the Streets

Coolest store front for a wristwatch no? I guess for these guys that would be very retro! 😛

Barb wire fences next to old castle defenses.

Meet the current head of the underground newspaper. He became a little bit of an issue as it appeared he’d gotten intel about HQ’s secret base. Not a good thing.

Down in the sewers. A super cool bit of graffiti!

The weird advertising is half the fun of walking around.

Is this not the cutest setup for a fast food burger joint? 🙂

One of the things Jensen does best. Crawling through vents! 😛

May the weekend find you dry and your sinuses behaving! 🙂

Virtual Tourist – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 4/23/17

What a week! Still trying to recuperate. 😛 Quarter end closes for accounting types can be harsh! Ugh.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

These are the diabolical plans for a different kind of computer. Gasp! I won’t realize what this pertains to for a while.

Old world flair!

I do sometimes take pics of the weirdest things! The stretched structure is the far end of one of the many data bank vaults owned by Palisades Bank. Truly impressive buildings.

Street entry into a seemingly harmless shipping company. It’s a front/entry for the local Task Force 29 HQ. 🙂

This is the underground facility for Task Force 29.

The people Jensen works for – the Global Anti-terrorism Division.

Computer expert and super twitchy paranoid bud. lol.

Info board. You can click on the images and get intel. The board changes over time as we discover more info.

Reporting to the boss. Corrupt? We’re going to find out.

Sneaking around to get to other parts of the office. 😛

Have a great one!
